The writer published her novel entitled "Wacolda" before turning it into a movie, under the title: The German Doctor, and directed and produced it. It premiered on the sidelines of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. It won the Audience Award at the Saint Petersburg Festival, the Best Director Award and the Special Jury Prize at the Havana Film Festival.
